1. Why walking is work, from 0:00
Walking feels natural, but every step takes work. Every stride turns on two moments: heel strike and push-off.
The foot swings through and lands.
Landing: shin + thigh. At heel strike, your shin and thigh catch you. [On screen: the quadriceps (thigh) and tibialis anterior (shin) light up.]
Balance: hip. In between, you balance on one leg, and your hip keeps you level. [On screen: the gluteus medius (hip) lights up.]
Push-off: calf. At push-off, your calf fires. The biggest burst of power in each step. [On screen: an illustrative graph of calf effort peaks at push-off.]
Every heel strike slows you a little. Every push-off, mostly your calf, wins it back.
2. Land rolling, from 0:38
Step on the Moonwalkers. They strap over your own shoes. From a standstill, your push-off sets them in motion.
Two moments again. At heel strike, they feel you land on wheels already turning.
3. Push, boosted, from 0:53
As you push off, they push with you. Your push, plus theirs. So your calf works less. [On screen: an illustrative graph shows less calf effort with Moonwalkers than in sneakers.]
4. Always in step, from 1:02
Stop walking, both feet down. From top speed, they stop in about 1.3 feet.
You walk, it mirrors. The next, a little faster. The third, right up to your pace. They keep up with you. [On screen: speed climbs from 15% to 60% to 100% of walking pace over 3 steps.]
Same steps, same rhythm. Each one takes you a little further. [On screen: side by side, each boosted step covers more ground than a step in sneakers.]
Moonwalkers. You walk, it mirrors.
Fastest react.
SENSA, our latest gait model, reads your stride and the ground faster and more precisely than the previous generation.³
Stops in just over a foot.
From top speed, Dusk comes to a stop in 1.3 ft. The previous generation needed 3.3 ft, so you stay in control at crosswalks and in crowds.
Keeps up in under 1 second.
When you pick up the pace, Dusk catches up twice as fast as the previous generation, so speeding up feels natural.
Reads hills to within 1°.
Dusk reads the slope to within 1°, far more precisely than the previous generation, so it holds steady uphill and down.
Walk. Run. Jump.
Dusk is the first Moonwalkers you can run and jump in. SENSA instantly mirrors the rider’s intended motion between walking and running.
A faster brain.
MB2 is our latest Motion Board, the electronics inside Dusk. It runs SENSA, drives the motors and connects to your phone. It’s 3 times faster than the previous generation, with 10 times the memory.

Easy on the feet.
The lightest Moonwalkers we’ve ever built: 3.5~4.2 lb a shoe, depending on size.
Questions, answered.
How is Dusk different from roller skates?
Skates make you glide. Dusk keeps you walking. You step heel to toe as you always do, and SENSA, our latest gait model, reads each stride and adds speed to it: up to 7 mph in Small and Medium, and 8 mph in Large.
How long does it take to get comfortable?
Most people get comfortable in about 30 minutes, and SENSA adapts to your stride within 10 steps.
How do I stop?
Just stop walking, and Dusk stops with you. No button, no remote. Start walking again and it’s back to speed.
What about cracks and uneven sidewalks?
A new wheel chemistry takes the shock out of each landing before it reaches your foot, so rough pavement feels softer underfoot. Step over deep cracks, gaps and curbs as you would in any shoe.
Can I take the stairs?
Yes. Swipe left on the running light to switch to Indoor, then take the stairs as you normally would. Swipe right to get back to Shift.
Does Dusk handle hills?
Yes. SENSA reads the slope as you walk and meters assistance to the grade, climbing and descending.
How far does Dusk go on a charge, even in summer?
Small and Medium go 6 miles, even in summer heat. That’s 50% more summer range than the previous generation. Dusk Large goes up to 7 miles on a charge. Range tested with a 150 lb rider on flat ground at 5 mph, at 85°F for the summer figure. Your range will vary with rider weight, terrain, speed and temperature.
How long does it take to charge?
About 1.5 hours over USB-C, for both shoes.
What if the battery runs out mid-walk?
Dusk gradually comes to a stop. Charge it with a USB-C PD charger or a PD-compatible power bank. A full charge takes about 1.5 hours.
Can Dusk get wet?
Dusk is IP54 splash resistant, so wet pavement and shallow puddles are fine.
How heavy is Dusk, and is there a rider weight limit?
Each shoe weighs 3.5 lb in Small, 3.8 lb in Medium and 4.2 lb in Large, the lightest Moonwalkers we’ve built. Small and Medium carry riders up to 175 lb (80 kg), and Large up to 220 lb (100 kg).
Who can ride Dusk?
Dusk is for adults. It isn’t intended for minors.
Which size do I need?
Each size covers a band of foot lengths. Small fits US Men’s 4-6 (Women’s 5-8), Medium fits US Men’s 6-9 (Women’s 8-10) and Large fits US Men’s 9-13 (Women’s 10-14). On the line between 2 sizes? Both fit: the smaller feels snugger, the larger roomier. Large also runs 8 mph, against 7 for Small and Medium.
Can I wear Dusk on buses, trains or in stores?
Yes. Swipe left on the running light to switch to Indoor and walk on as usual. Swipe right to get back to Shift.
Can I take Dusk on a flight?
Pack Dusk in your carry-on. Its battery is 44.4 Wh in Small and Medium and 66.6 Wh in Large, under the 100 Wh limit most airlines set for cabin bags. Airline rules vary, so check with yours before you fly.
Can I ride Dusk on sidewalks and in bike lanes?
Yes. Dusk is designed for sidewalks, and it isn’t prohibited in bike lanes.
How long will Dusk last?
Dusk is built to be renewed. Wheels change in 5 minutes with the Allen key in the wheel replacement box, and straps, exterior plastics and wheel rims swap without tools. Replacement parts are sold in our store, and every pair has a 1-year warranty.
Can I try Dusk before I commit?
Yes. Every pair comes with a 14-day free trial, starting the day it’s delivered. If Dusk isn’t for you, start a return within those 14 days and we’ll refund you.

Dusk weight, top speed and rider limit vary by size.
S, M and L are Dusk sizes Small, Medium and Large. Weight, top speed and rider limit vary by size.
-
1. Speed and range. Dusk Large: 8 mph top speed and up to 7 mi max range, vs. 7 mph and 6 mi for Moonwalkers Aero and the original Moonwalkers. Max range; actual range depends on rider, terrain and temperature.
-
2. Summer range. Small and Medium travel about 6 mi per charge in summer heat. Large carries a larger battery and goes up to 7 mi on a charge. Longer daily distances may need a recharge.
-
3. SENSA comparisons. Response when you speed up (2x, under 1 second), stopping distance from top speed (1.3 ft vs. 3.3 ft) and slope reading accuracy (4x, within 1°) compare Dusk with SENSA against the previous generation, Moonwalkers Aero and the original Moonwalkers.
-
4. Hardware comparisons. Processing power (3x), summer range (50%) and Dusk L range (17%) compare Dusk with the previous generation, Moonwalkers Aero and the original Moonwalkers.
-
5. Distance. Estimates for a typical walker. Assumes a 2.5 ft step at a 3.1 mph walking pace, with Dusk covering about 2.1-2.5× the ground per step, depending on size. At that rate a 2 mi trip takes about 15-18 minutes in Dusk and about 39 minutes on foot. The calculator assumes the same number of steps in Dusk, so the same steps cover 2.1-2.5× the distance.
-
6. Car trips replaced. 10-25 mi a week, about 5-9 driving trips of 3 mi or less. US drivers make about 2.44 driving trips a day (AAA Foundation American Driving Survey, 2024), and about half of US vehicle trips are under 6 mi (2022 National Household Travel Survey).
-
7. CO₂. Assumes each replaced mile would otherwise be driven in a typical US gasoline passenger vehicle: about 22.0 mpg and 8,887 g of CO₂ per gallon, or about 404 g (0.9 lb) per mile (EPA, Greenhouse Gas Emissions from a Typical Passenger Vehicle). For 10-25 car miles a week, that’s about 8.9-22 lb. Charging is excluded. Over a year (52 weeks), that’s about 210-525 kg, or about 5-11% of the roughly 4.6 metric tons of CO₂ a typical passenger vehicle emits each year (EPA).
-
8. Cleaner street air. 75%+ of exhaust pollutants in the first 3 minutes: Utah Department of Environmental Quality study with Weber State and Utah State universities, after a cold start (engine off 12+ hours); refers to pollutants, not CO₂.
-
9. Easier breathing. Nitrogen dioxide: World Health Organization air quality database update, 2022, which notes that nitrogen dioxide comes mainly from human burning of fuel, such as car traffic, and that exposure can bring respiratory disease such as asthma, coughing, wheezing and more hospital and emergency-room admissions.
-
10. Steps gained. Steps to cover a 2 mi trip in Dusk instead of driving it: about 1,690, at the stride and rate above. For 10-25 car miles a week, that’s about 8,400-21,100 steps (about 845 steps a mile). Averaged over 7 days, that’s about 1,200-3,000 steps a day.
-
11. Mental health. −9% depression risk per 1,000 extra daily steps: 2024 meta-analysis of 33 studies, about 96,000 adults (Bizzozero-Peroni et al., JAMA Network Open).
-
12. Heart attack or stroke. −40-50% heart attack or stroke risk at 6,000-9,000 vs. 2,000 daily steps in adults 60+: 2023 meta-analysis of 8 studies, about 20,000 adults (Paluch et al., Circulation).
-
13. Blood pressure. −4 mmHg systolic blood pressure: 2021 meta-analysis of 73 trials, about 5,000 adults, with 15 weeks of 20-40 minute walks 3-5 times a week (Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews).
-
14. Blood sugar. −17% blood sugar: 2022 meta-analysis of 7 studies, 2-5 minutes of light walking every 20-30 minutes vs. prolonged sitting (Buffey et al., Sports Medicine).
-
15. LDL cholesterol. −5% LDL cholesterol: meta-analysis of 25 trials, about 1,200 adults; changes were small (Kelley et al.).
-
16. Mobility. −18% risk of major mobility disability: LIFE randomized trial of 1,635 inactive adults aged 70-89 with physical limitations, over 2.6 years; the program combined walking with strength, flexibility and balance training (Pahor et al., JAMA, 2014).
-
Health notes. The mental health and heart figures are associations, not cause and effect. All health studies used ordinary walking, not Moonwalkers.
-
Estimates only. Actual distance and range depend on size, rider, terrain and settings.
